New Birth

A couple weeks ago I was eating an apple when I found something white in it. Figuring it was a worm of some sort I pulled it out (you should at least know what kind of worm is in your food right?) and from the center of the core popped out two leaves. The white was actually a stem of a baby apple tree growing in my apple. I was shocked and elated. This seemed to be to be a symbol of hope, new birth. I have since planted the tiny tree and it is currently living. It was not grown very large but I am hoping in time it can become deep rooted and fullfil its purpose.
I have since planted a garden in my back yard. I am waiting to see what survives and produces and what goes to the community's rabbits (as my mother-in-law says there is enough for everyone). My hope and prayer for you is that this summer may be one of learning and new birth. It may be hard, however, I imagine it was hard for that seed to grow inside of my apple. It made it and so can you. It may be risky or not come out as you intended it but may you be the stronger and wiser for it. If your problems are financial, remember money doesn't grow on trees, but fruit does.
Fruit is life giving and has been a constant throughout history (unlike money which has changed its form from gold to paper). If you have nothing you can still pick the fruit from trees, even if you have no money for food, nature does provide. Nobody can ever take that from you. I have known some people who have not been able to pay their bills and have destroyed their credit, they are still here and shockingly happier for it. It sounds crazy but credit isn't everything (imagine that) no they cannot go out and buy a new car or house but there are other ways, also they do not have items that own them. Do you own your fine belongings that you work so hard to keep every month or do they own you? If you don't believe me fine, please watch "Into the Wild" and learn from it. Much love and hope on your journey to new birth, may you pick fruit along the way.

Self Improvement

This is for all of you who beat yourself up for thought failures or deficiencies.

There are a lot of different people in this world and it is true to say that the best I have met (and I have met a lot) believe that they are inadequate in some regard. Here is what I have to say to you lovely people; Everyone has room for improvement, it is true. However, some people never know this and inflate their egos to unbelievable strength, they have much room for improvement. These people talk about others, purchase name brands at an alarming amount, and follow whatever pop culture tells them to do. They somehow state that they are an individual despite all this and I guess they technically are in their genetic make up.
I have found that those who expect a lot from themselves and push themselves to new goals or creative endeavors are the most striking people. These people are beautiful, smart, and independent thinkers. They are the people who don't need improvement but believe they do and are always working towards it. You are perfect the way you are. Just think, the thought or desire of self-improvement already set you far above the rest. "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherent the Earth" Matthew 5:5.

Epiphany

I had an epiphany today. I lost it on the drive home but I figure that is fair...they say it is better to love and have lost than to never have loved at all. So I suppose the same can be said about epiphanies. I got caught in the rain today, this was no ordinary rain, it made me pull the car over for fear of my life. However we made it through and there was a magical garden on the other side. There is always a calm after the storm even if you have to make your own.
